Like many of you, I sometimes need help to get out of bed in the morning. Life can be amazing, but it can also be dreary and difficult and hard. And sometimes, the silver linings can be very tricky to find. This is where Mindfulness comes in. Mindfulness can simply be described as a practice of purposefully paying attention to the present moment. It does not happen overnight – it takes practise and is a way of being, but it is worth it.
I take a different approach to Mindfulness than some. Mindfulness is not something that you do, but something that you are. It isn’t something extra to do in your already jam-packed day, but something to implement into every breath you take and every thought you have. And the reason Mindfulness is so effective? Because there isn’t a right or wrong way to do it – just a way that suits you.
Mindfulness is what makes a difference to my frazzled brain – and believe me, if I can be calm – so can you!
